Now OPEN: Remodeled Pediatric Play Room at Hennepin Healthcare

With the ribbon cutting complete, the remodeled pediatric in-patient play room at the Children’s Hospital at HCMC in Minneapolis, is now open and ready for PLAY! Coinciding with National Make a Difference for Children Month in July, the newly-renovated play room includes a reading nook, custom modular storage cabinets, therapeutic equipment and other enhancements.

“We’re all so excited to have this updated playroom for our younger patients,” says Rebecca DeRosia, senior development officer at Hennepin Healthcare Foundation, which coordinates contributions to Hennepin Healthcare. “The last time this play room was remodeled was in 1987. This new space will give our young patients a fun place to play and visit with family.”

The remodeling effort of the pediatric play room was sponsored by Central Roofing Company, Minnesota’s premier commercial roofer. The company, which has a longstanding relationship with Hennepin Healthcare, donated more than $23,000 toward the remodeling effort.

“The generous financial contribution from Central Roofing helped make the play room upgrade happen,” says DeRosia. “We appreciate their support with this and other projects that successfully connect our community with the needs of patients at Hennepin Healthcare.”
